The control cabinet is a component in every building that is protected from external influences. It is particularly protected from dust and water. However, the cable entry is a potential weak point. The market offers a wealth of products for cable entry: via grommets, screw fittings, rubber profiles and much more. The disadvantage is that many systems require several cut-outs and drill-holes in order to insert all cables and wires of various sizes into the control cabinet. Cables with plugs pose a particular problem, as the plug is often larger than the actual hole. What is needed here is an intelligent all-in-one solution that saves you time and therefore money, while also offering maximum safety. We call it VarioPlate - a clever cable entry system.
Cable entry simple and safe
The VarioPlate offers a multitude of advantages. Elementary is the flexibility and easy installation. The basic element - the frame - is simply attached to the control cabinet with four screw fittings in the recess. Thanks to the recessed rubber seal, additional gluing or sealing is not necessary. The next step is to insert the cables into the control cabinet. The appropriate grommet is placed around each cable. Finally, the grommets are placed in the frame using tongue and groove and the frame is sealed: quickly, easily and with a frame seal up to IP66. The bonus point: the grommet is not placed on the end of the cable and does not have to be pulled all the way through, as with conventional solutions. Instead, the grommets can be opened on the side and thus simply slipped over the cable in the right place.
Variety in the modular system
The VarioPlate is a modular and flexible system, making it the right solution for small and large installations, as well as for a wide range of cable diameters in one frame. The frames are available in four different sizes. The system always offers space for two S-grommets in height (small) and for 2 to 10 S-grommets in width (depending on the size of the frame). The S-grommets are available for cable diameters from 3 mm to 16 mm. Thereby the S-grommet has room for one, two or four cables. The L-grommets (large) take the place of 2x2 S-grommets in the frame. Thus, the L-grommets are suitable for cables from 16 mm to 33 mm outer diameter. Practical: If fewer grommets are inserted into a frame than there would be space for, the gap can simply be closed with a dummy insert. Practical dummy plugs are also available for unused grommets or grommets intended for later expansion of the system.
All grommets offer some leeway in the choice of size in relation to cable diameter due to their mechanical flexibility. There is also a rubber lip on the back of each grommet to which the cable can be easily attached with a cable tie, thus relieving strain.
