Technical Description | The Internal Corridor Box provides a customer connection point within an MDU environment. The ICB allows a multi-fibre cable with a maximum diameter of 2.8mm to be routed along a corridor. The midspan capability allows for a single fibre to be dropped off at each customer location allowing the remainder of the cable to feed additional customer connections. Up to 2m of cable can be stored in the enclosure (or 4m if the cable jacket and aramid yarn are removed), allowing friendly fibre preparation at a nominal working height of 1m. The ICB is designed for horizontal or vertical installation with 4 entry/exit ports (2 at the top and 2 at the bottom of the base). This allows the corridor cable to pass through (inline) from the top or from the bottom or to enter and exit via one of the ports. The box incorporates positive fibre management which ensures the fibres adhere to the minimum bend radius. A fire-resistant metal clip is fitted inside to comply with the current IET Wiring Regulations. The configuration with two adaptors is designed in case of multiple broadband providers. |
